The Desire to Move
Lukas is 16 and very bright. School doesn’t hold his attention and his parents are back in Switzerland. His outlet is Parkour; the art of free running. The exhilaration is his release.
Rose is in her fifties and has early onset Parkinson’s. As she struggles to come to terms with her world of movement being slowly eroded, an unlikely friendship develops when Lukas literally lands at her feet.
Produced by Bristol based Band Films, Kinetics is written and performed by Sue Wylie. The story is based on her own experiences of being diagnosed with Parkinson’s and the true story of her friendship with a rebellious, free running student.
Their contrasting worlds of movement are explored using projection, Parkour, and a wicked sense of humour in this engaging, accessible film.
