Screening Toolkit

We are very happy for individuals or groups, such as Parkinson’s support groups, to host a screening of ‘Kinetics’. The toolkit below should outline the necessary steps to take in order to be able to put on a showing.

Please contact us if you decide you would like to do so, and we will provide you with the DVD and literature as explained below.

    • The first step is to decide on your venue and the time of your screening. Do you think a day-time or evening screening will be more accessible to those who will benefit from the film?

Some Parkinson’s UK branches have contacted their local cinemas to request a screening for a reduced, or no, fee. DT2 Productions is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and cinemas have often responded well, so this is an option that we would encourage. If the screening is being held at a cinema, we can provide the DCP file.

    • Village halls and other such venues are also great. All you will need is to ensure that you have access to the necessary technical equipment for showing a DVD (for example, a projector, screen and speakers) and that there are suitable blackout curtains if it is a daytime showing.

    • For a fee of £25, we will provide you with a copy of the DVD and an e-pack to guide you through the publicity materials. This includes access to a master copy of our flyer and pamphlet that includes ‘Kinetics’’ history and a synopsis.

    • It is a great idea to contact your local press, such as newspapers and radio stations, to maximise publicity for the screening (unless you have decided on an internal showing). You could also consider inviting “V.I.P” guests, such as the local Mayor or Member of Parliament. They will often need approaching weeks in advance of the screening. Give yourselves plenty of run time.

    • Next is to decide if you will charge for tickets. You may have a free screening at which you would absorb any costs, or you could charge a fixed ticket price. In either case, you could encourage donations.

    • Please remember that as part of your contract with us, any profits must be given to a not-for-profit organisation. DT2 Productions will be very grateful for any profits/donations you have to spare. Kinetics was made possible through the generosity of its supporters, and we still rely on these to further the growth of the film. We also donate to Parkinson’s UK, to further research and support. DT2 Productions is a registered charity, number 1165720.

    • Depending on the location of the screening, Sue may be available to give an introductory talk about the film, and a Q+A post screening. This comes at a cost of £100, plus travel expenses and any necessary accommodation if an overnight stay is necessary.
